feeling restive	[Aug. 28th, 2013\|10:45 am] The Bev
my brain has been in a restive mood this past week. very unsettled and ready for new adventures...but not sure what. it's possible cause all the Worldcon posts have been flying around, and i didn't make the attempt to go so can't whine about it. People always say to follow your passion, follow your bliss. What if you don't know that that is? if you've never found anything that really strikes you, something you feel you must do or die. There is a general air of indifference and malaise at my house and i need to shake things up. Join a book club? NWSF club? go to more cons? go back to school and take random classes to see if anything strikes my fancy? i have 7 books that i've been wanting to read very much...but my brain won't settle down and let me. maybe putting it down will unblock a dam i've had in my brain.

well i survived another round of layoffs. there were 9 to go this time, 2 from our department. we are really down to the bare bones, not sure how long we can keep this up.

sometimes the subscribers are asking for outrageous writeoffs to "keep them as a customer". sometimes i want to write in the customers account that "the customer can suck it".

i guess it's official. i'm a lurker. I usually come to LJ once or twice a week to keep up on the 2-4 friends i have that still post here (i'm looking at you charles). but when i just accidentally clicked on my instead of my friends page i see i havent posted since september. september although to be fair in my life nothing much changes and nothing much goes on. Tristan is out of prison so my bi-monthly trips to the other side of the state are history! We dont have to care if it's snowing in the passes or if we should bring a coat cause it will be cold. Screw eastern washington. (except for the awesome thrift/consignment store we found). cat still randomly peeing on things. the latest one we cant track down to clean..so it smells of cat in my house. stupid bugger, i can see a day in the future of me on my knees smelling the carpet for pee. randomly get to read books. patricia cornwell and lisa gardner have been on my list recently. Got an e-reader and havent gotten to put anything on it yet. it was pre-loaded with 100 books, so it's not like there isnt anything on it...but 100 books that i've read, dont want to read. deleted some already. dracula, frankenstein, the bible...stuff like that. still employed.16 1/2 years so far. both kids looking for work/ waiting for school to start. 2011 has been much better to me than 2010 and for that i am thankful.

Just saw that Tony curtis has passed away at 85. add that to Greg Giraldo who is going be so missed. he was funny, quick, sharp, just so talented that it was crazy. E Roasts arent going to be the same without him, not to mention "last comic standing" Cnn has failed me so hard. tony curtis is on the front page of the entertainment page. OK he is a legend. so i hit the search for Greg Giraldo to make sure i spelled it right, and the only thing that popped was a story from march where he was out on tour with Conan. Seriously?

Tristans new address	[Sep. 20th, 2010\|11:50 am] The Bev
Tristan has been moved to minimum security pending a bed opening up in work release. His address is the same, but change the bed number from CB05 to HB18. there apparently is good and bad in the move. Good: toilet no longer in cell Bad: 4 people per room instead of 2 good: Role playing galore Bad: his old role playing friends are in the pod over if nothing opens in work release he is still set for release on 1/15/11.

Which year would you consider the best of your life so far?

1982 was a very good year. i graduated high school, got my first real boyfriend,had sex for the first time, concerts were very cheap and plentiful, had started college and loved it much more than high school, looked damn good, punk and new wave were starting to fade but still a lot of great music to go around, no bills, no worries.

yes...a very good year.
